integrative counsellor

Counselling can be a space to explore who we are, how we got here, and what might be possible.
Sometimes we know exactly what has brought us to counselling; at other times, we may only know that something feels difficult, stuck or unresolved. How we think, feel and behave is shaped by our experiences, our relationships and the world we live in. You don't need to come to counselling with clear ideas or explanations. We can begin with curiosity.

how I Work

I am a qualified, BACP registered integrative counsellor who works relationally. Our time together is adaptable: we find an approach that works best for you. Our relationship is an essential part of the counselling: feeling connected, understood and accepted by another person can allow us to experience ourselves differently.
My role is not to give you advice or tell you what needs to change. I will listen with curiosity and patience, without judgement, and share what I notice.
We can explore what is happening in your life now, past experiences, your relationships, or things that can be more difficult to understand or put into words. Our circumstances, communities and the society we live in can also shape how we experience ourselves and our sense of identity and belonging. I remain open to the different ways we might understand what you bring.
Together we can make better sense of your experience and what matters to you, while exploring the choices and possibilities that may become available.

reasons for counselling

People come to counselling for many different reasons.
My experience includes:
Anxiety, depression and feeling overwhelmed · Relationships and family difficulties · Grief and loss · Trauma, abuse and experiences of violence · Self-esteem and self-worth · Identity · Neurodiversity · Sexuality and gender · Loneliness and isolation · Belonging, alienation and feeling different · Marginalisation and exclusion · Social and cultural pressures · Financial and material insecurity · Addiction · Life changes · Questions of meaning, purpose and direction
You don't need to recognise yourself in a list or have a name for what you're experiencing to get in touch.
I aim to offer an inclusive practice that welcomes and respects everyone.
